Flightline First is now in Fairhope

Fox 10 News reports that Fairhope is ready to roll out the red carpet to business travelers with the opening of a new terminal at the city’s airport. Fairhope selected New Orleans-Based Flightline First as the new Fixed Base Operator (FBO).

Aircraft take of and land nearly 7,000 times per month at H. L. “Sonny” Callahan Airport in Fairhope. It’s one of the busiest airports in the state. As Baldwin County grows so does the need for services and private air service is one of them.

Flightline First Fairhope showed off the new terminal design at its grand opening Wednesday, December 4, 2024. The FBO offers premium aviation services for the Fairhope area. Based on the east side of Sonny Callahan Airport, Flightline First Fairhope has already seen fuel sales and other services increase since taking over operations six weeks ago.  Progress at the Fairhope Pier

The Fairhope Times reported that the crew is adding more rip-rap rock to the pier seawall to break waves as waterfront renovations continue. This is all part of the larger Working Waterfront plan the city has described in detail: The main purpose of the project is to make safe and user-friendly improvements to the 10-acre South Beach Park area (Municipal Pier) to enhance citizens’ use of the waterfront park facilities while ensuring the park’s long-term resiliency and sustainability. One of the major structural components is the repair of the 50 year old bulkhead/seawall. Years of storms, especially Hurricanes Sally and Zeta, have threatened the structural integrity of the anchoring hardware allowing portions of the wall to shift. In other spots, water intrusion behind the wall has eroded the soil supporting the walkway. Learn more here
