A mysterious sight has occurred on numerous occasions lately in Fairhope as an unknown person dressed as a poo has driven a golf cart around town spreading laughter, joy and hope. Our crack staff is trying to get to the bottom of this story.

New fitness court open at the Mike Ford Tennis Center

The new fitness court at Stimpson Field Park is now open for use, though an official ribbon-cutting ceremony may be held later. The court was built with the help of a private grant secured by Josh Turner. Signs at the site indicate that it’s for use at your own risk, only for those over age 14 and under 300 pounds. School starts this week in Fairhope

Baldwin County Public Schools, which include Fairhope schools, start Thursday August 8th. A lively employee event last week kicked off the 2024-’25 school year, where over 4,000 staff members gathered to celebrate and prepare for the year ahead. The keynote speaker, Greg “Boss” Wooldridge, a legendary Blue Angels commander, encouraged everyone to aim high and be their best. With school starting on August 8th, it’s clear the teachers are ready to dive back in—routine, students, and all! Also WAWA is offering free drinks to teachers until August 18th !!!

Fairhope Faces: Aero

Aero’s nickname started as a gamer tag, inspired by his quick typing skills, and it stuck with him through a nomadic life after dropping out of high school. Now a FedEx driver for the area in around Fairhope, Aero enjoys meeting all kinds of people, from famous folks to everyday neighbors, and loves listening to myths like Odysseus and Achilles while making his 150 daily stops. He reflects on the barcodes he scans and the tattoos he wears, which symbolize the prices he’s paid in life and his journey toward living for himself.
