Raincheck on Sunshine Today, Fairhope

Good afternoon Fairhope,
Hello, sun-starved Fairhope neighbors! It’s a grey, drizzly Wednesday — the kind of weather that makes your coffee taste better, your socks feel cozier, and your dog absolutely refuse to go outside. But don’t worry, while the sun might be on vacation, our community spirit is alive and well (and slightly damp)!
Grab your rain boots, your umbrella, and maybe a canoe just in case, because we’ve got events, updates, and enough local happenings to brighten even the soggiest day. Who says you need sunshine to shine? Let’s dive in (splash optional)! ☔👇
Wednesday afternoon giggle: Where do bad rainbows go? To Prism. It’s a light sentence, but it gives them time to reflect.
Feeling generous? Forward this newsletter to your brunch squad, your favorite bartender, or that friend who still “hasn’t seen” your Venmo request. Then shoot us an email at [email protected] with the words "I shared it!" for a shot at a $25 Kind Cafe gift card. (Trust us — caffeine tastes better when it’s free.)

Adoptable Pets: Meet Red

Red is a 2-year-old male red pit bull terrier with a heart as big as his smile. With his sleek russet coat and bright, expressive eyes, Red turns heads wherever he goes-but it's his affectionate nature that truly wins people over. Playful and full of life, he brings energy and joy to every room he enters. Whether he's chasing a ball or wagging his tail during a walk, Red exudes a natural charm that makes him a fast favorite among both humans and fellow pups.
Despite his active side, Red is also a top-tier snuggle buddy. He loves curling up next to his favorite humans, resting his head in their lap, and soaking up all the love he can get. Loyal, gentle, and endlessly sweet, Red thrives on companionship and is happiest when he's close to those he loves. With his winning combination of good looks and an even better temperament, Red is the perfect balance of fun-loving spirit and cozy couch companion.

Bayou Bouffant Blowout on Sat. @ Loretta’s Dock Salon
Is your hair bigger than your fishing boat? Does your Aqua Net budget rival the town's mosquito control fund? Then strut your stuff at the Bayou Bouffant Blowout — the only hair competition where humidity is both the enemy and the judge. Categories include “Best Windswept Look,” “Tallest Tease,” and “Most Likely to Disrupt Local Wildlife.” Free crab cakes for all participants, and the grand prize is a year’s supply of hair spray and a commemorative shrimp-shaped tiara.
Bring your hair, bring your flair, and leave your modesty at home. This is Southern Bayfront Town pageantry at its most gravity-defying.
… Just kidding, we were curious if you’d read all the way to the end!
