Fairhope Lighting of the Trees was Wonderful

Downtown Fairhope came alive last night with its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, a tradition started over 40 years ago by Joyce Stowe, who raised funds to light up the city and create a festive atmosphere. This beloved event now features over a million lights adorning 120 trees and a large Christmas tree, drawing crowds to Fairhope Avenue and Section Street to celebrate the season. Visitors and residents alike cherish the ceremony as it inspires holiday spirit, honors local traditions, and fosters a sense of community. With snow falling and white lights glowing, the night felt magical, kicking off Fairhope’s holiday celebrations with joy and togetherness.

Don’t Fall for it!

House Fire Leaves Single Mom and 5 Kids Homeless

A devastating house fire in the Stonebridge neighborhood of Baldwin County left a single mother, Abby Granson, and her five children, aged 7 to 16, homeless. The fire began early Wednesday morning on the back deck and quickly spread to the attic, completely destroying the home and all belongings inside. Fire officials suspect the fire may have started from a grill or fire pit and have called in the State Fire Marshal to investigate its suspicious cause. A GoFundMe account has been launched to assist the family with immediate expenses as they recover from this tragedy.

Annual Tradition in the Streets of Fairhope

The holiday season is upon us and we will to kick off the festivities with a Christmas Movie under the Stars! On November 23rd at 6:30 PM, the 14th annual “Movie in the Street: On Fairhope Avenue” will be showing “The Grinch.” The intersection of Section Street and Fairhope Avenue will be transformed into “Whoville” for the evening, providing a magical experience for families and friends.

The event is open to the public and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the movie comfortably. Children are also invited to wear their favorite holiday pajamas, adding to the festive atmosphere. So, grab your loved ones and come on down for a night of family fun and entertainment!
