The Glow Over Fairhope

Last night the colors of the sunset were a unique pink and purple all over Fairhope and we appreciate all of the photos you shared! James Spann tells us that “the colors are the result of the angle of the sunlight, and how it passes through raindrops and particulates, which scatter the light.” Photo credit: Lynn Oldshue

BIG Turn out Expected Tomorrow Night

Join us at Fairhope’s Annual Lighting of the Trees in Downtown Fairhope. The City of Fairhope joyfully ushers in the holiday season with the beloved Fairhope Tree Lighting Ceremony on Thurs, November 21, 2024. The celebrations will kick off at 5:30 p.m., culminating in the magical moment when the trees light up the night at 6 p.m.

This tradition promises fun for the whole family. Mrs. Claus will be there, delighting children with candy canes and helping them draft their wish lists for Santa, which she'll personally deliver to the North Pole! Even the Grinch will make a special appearance, adding a dash of mischief to the evening.

The festivities will be filled with performances by the Fairhope High School Band, the Fairhope High School Choral Ensemble, and the Fairhope Middle School Band. Stop by Mobile Bay Realty for a cup of hot cocoa brought in from The Kind Cafe.

Don’t Fall for it!

Fairhope Street Closures Tomorrow

Three streets in downtown will be closed on Thursday November 21st as our Fairhope Police get ready for the Downtown Tree Lighting that begins at 5:30. Please be mindful of parking restrictions throughout the day and tell your friends! The signs will be clear and you will not want to own an improperly parked vehicle.

Annual Tradition in the Streets of Fairhope

The holiday season is upon us and we will to kick off the festivities with a Christmas Movie under the Stars! On November 23rd at 6:30 PM, the 14th annual “Movie in the Street: On Fairhope Avenue” will be showing “The Grinch.” The intersection of Section Street and Fairhope Avenue will be transformed into “Whoville” for the evening, providing a magical experience for families and friends.

The event is open to the public and attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the movie comfortably. Children are also invited to wear their favorite holiday pajamas, adding to the festive atmosphere. So, grab your loved ones and come on down for a night of family fun and entertainment!
