Fairhope Triangle Park Progress

Orange cones and safety fencing spotted on Scenic 98: progress is evident on Thompson Engineering’s master plan for the Triangle Park project on Fly Creek. The pedestrian tunnel under Veterans Drive has been completed and is already being utilized by walkers and cyclists. In the northern section of the 72 acre parcel we can expect to see the development of a new trailhead and parking lot at the site of the old Dyas house. There will also be a kayak launch, nature trails, outdoor classrooms, an amphitheater and a longleaf pine forest restoration. Initial funding came from a $1 million state GOMESA (Gulf of Mexico Energy and Securties Act) grant. Check out the master plan here.

Join Mayor Sullivan for Hot Cocoa

Join Mayor Sherry Sullivan for hot cocoa at the Fairhope Recreation Center on Monday morning! This local event is open to all and is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the season with our Mayor and enjoy the magic of Christmas! 🎅🤶✨ Learn more here: Rec Center

Demo on Section Street Yesterday

Bulldozers and dumpsters spotted on Section Street: After 27 years of seeing this office building as Dr. Alan Melton’s Dental practice at 307 N Section, the building was demolished within a few short hours yesterday. The building sold last year and the new owners, Infirmary Health Systems, plan to use this space as a parking lot.

Expansion for Little Bird

A line of pick up trucks spotted on Oak Ave: We are super excited about the new Little Bird restaurant coming soon to the corner of Bancroft and Oak Ave. The owners shared that their restaurant is:

“Thoughtful Branding and Design while Paying Homage to a Cherished Matriarch.

Our restaurant boasts a colorful and refreshing environment for both locals and guests in our town, Fairhope.  From the moment patrons enter the front door, they become enveloped in the narrative of our chef’s Virginia Eileen Briand. One may ask, ‘why Little Bird?’  Using the middle name, Eileen is an anglicized version of the Gaelic meaning ‘little bird’ and ‘strength.’

Our restaurant provides coastal southern cuisine while paying homage, through naming and storytelling, to our chef’s beloved mother.

This unique concept for Deep Roots Restaurant Group reinforces the love for their hometown of Fairhope.  Little Bird provides their community another memorable experience that is both comfortable and vibrant.”

Hope Community Race / Walk

Mark your calendar for the Hope Community Walk on January 4th in Fairhope. The Hope Community, in collaboration with the Mobile Bay Maker’s Market, invites you to join us in the inaugural 5K Race/Walk fundraiser to be held in the historic Fairhope South neighborhood.

After the race, Hope Community invites the community to enjoy food, music, and fellowship while strolling through the booths of local makers and growers of Baldwin County on the grounds of the Anna T. Jeanes School property.

Fairhope Adoptable Pets: Meet Gabby

Gabby is a vibrant and loving 1-year-old black and white Labrador Retriever mix who brings joy and energy wherever she goes. With her sharp intelligence and active nature, she thrives on playtime, walks, and mental stimulation, making her an ideal companion for an active family or individual. Despite her energetic personality, Gabby is also incredibly sweet and affectionate, enjoying snuggle sessions and quiet moments with her loved ones. Her loving nature makes her a loyal and devoted friend, eager to form strong bonds with those who spend time with her.

While Gabby is a wonderful companion, she would do best in a home without small children, as her exuberance and playfulness might unintentionally overwhelm younger ones. Gabby thrives in environments where she can engage in stimulating activities, keeping both her mind and body active. She would be delighted to find a family or person who can match her energy while offering plenty of cuddles and love. With her perfect balance of sweetness and liveliness, Gabby is ready to share her heart with the right person who appreciates her unique and playful nature..
