It's Wet & Frizzy Out There Today

Well butter my biscuit and call it soggy - after a weekend busier than a mosquito at a nudist colony and a Monday morning wetter than a hound dog in a kiddie pool, we finally made it to Monday afternoon! If you’ve managed to keep your hair from frizzin’ and your coffee from spillin’, consider yourself ahead of the game.
Grab a sweet tea, prop up them rain boots by the door, and let’s catch up on what’s goin’ on around our little corner of the world. We’ve got news, events, and maybe even a feel good story if the spirit moves us.
So sit a spell—you’ve earned it.
Here’s your Monday afternoon funny: What do you call a cow with a twitch?
Beef jerky.
Now that you’ve had your laugh, cozy up with a warm drink and check out this week’s updates. Don’t forget—sharing FairhopeNow.com with a friend or family member enters you to win a $25 Kind Cafe gift card! Just email us at [email protected], and we’ll add your name to the raffle. – John Oldshue & Anne Dorman

Progress on the Pier
Slow and steady - progress is being made on the Fairhope Municipal Pier and Parks. The Fairhope Times reports that the northern seawall is being addressed today. The pier has recently re-opened and The Blind Tiger is open - so walk down or pull up in your boat to support our local restaurant on the water!
Our Southern Souls: Reveille Coffee

“We always find four-leaf clovers and give them to customers to spread love. Everything at our coffee shop is about spreading love. It all started as a homeschool project to learn about business.
We moved to Baldwin County from Oregon, the land of drive-through coffee. We couldn't find anything like that here, so we started one. My husband suggested we call it Reveille, like the military wake-up call. We took the idea and ran with it. Our three girls helped build this coffee shop from the ground up. They helped clear the lot, plant grass seeds, build the stairs, pick out the shipping container, and interview roasters. We dug the hole for the grinder pump and the electric line, anything to save us money. Now they do their homework while they work here. We're going into our fourth year of business…
Steak Cook Off- Double Winner

They shared a big thank you for all those who came out to support and compete in the Fairhope Rotary 2025 Steak Cookoff!
Take the Safe Streets Survey

Hey Fairhope, We need your input! The City is developing a comprehensive plan to improve safety for all —including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users, and drivers. The Safety Action Plan will focus on roadway safety challenges, identifying projects and developing policies that will address these challenges. This effort is funded by a “Safe Streets and Roads for All” grant recently awarded to the City. Go to https://safestreetsfairhope.com. and fill out the survey!
Fairhope Adoptable Pets: Meet Onyx

Meet Onyx, a striking 1-year-old male black cat with mesmerizing gold eyes that seem to hold a world of stories. His sleek, ebony fur shimmers under the light, giving him an air of quiet elegance. Onyx was deeply loved by his previous owner, a kind-hearted soul who had to make the heart-wrenching decision to surrender him due to an overseas military deployment. Now, Onyx finds himself in a new environment, feeling a little lost without the familiar warmth of his human companion.
Though his heart is heavy, Onyx is a gentle and affectionate cat, yearning for a new forever home where he can share his quiet purrs and loyal companionship. He loves basking in sunny spots, chasing feather toys, and curling up for cozy naps. Will you be the one to bring back the sparkle to Onyx's golden eyes and give him the love he so deserves?
