Accidental Firearm Discharge

NBC15 News reports that the Fairhope Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one female victim injured in the Rock Creek neighborhood on Saturday night.

Officers responded to a call for a single shot fired. “I heard something from my bedroom, and I was like, well, that's weird. It sounded like a gunshot. I’m thinking, okay, it’s probably nothing. I go back to sleep and all that. I woke up the next morning, and my parents told me someone was shot in the neck here in this area. I was like, really?” said Ethan Kellerman, a neighbor.

According to the Fairhope Police Department, one person was transported to the hospital. A friend confirmed to us that the victim is Riley Cranton. Read Article here

Green Drinks Tonight

Tonight at The Monkey Bar Fairhope the Alabama Coastal Foundation will present for Mobile Bay Green Drinks. You are invited to hear the Coastal Relations Coordinator Haley Jackson talk about the Oyster Recycling Program for local restaurants. Oyster shells collected are going back into Alabama waters to help grow, provide habitat, reduce erosion, and improve water quality.

The group plans and hosts the monthly gathering, Mobile Bay Green Drinks. It is the local chapter of an international organization that meets informally on the 3rd Wednesday of the month to discuss, promote and network about local and global environmental issues.
