Fairhope Water Woes:
Fines up to $500 đŸ˜±

Fairhope’s hit another water snag, this time thanks to a well that decided to take an unplanned vacation and go kaput, knocking out about 1 million gallons of water a day. With the summer heat cranking up and rain taking a break, the city has hit the panic button, moving us to a mandatory Phase III of the water conservation plan. Translation? Put those sprinklers on pause and follow the strict water rules above unless you want to risk a hefty fine—yes, up to $500 if you’re caught sneaking in some lawn watering đŸ˜± .

But hey, there’s a silver lining! A temporary pump is scheduled to arrive today, and if all goes according to plan, it should be up and running by the end of the week, giving us a much-needed splash of relief. Meanwhile, the city’s keeping a close watch and will update us on the situation by Monday. If the pump plays nice, we might even downgrade to Phase II of the conservation plan next week. So, hang tight, keep those sprinklers off, and maybe do a little rain dance—who knows, maybe that will work ?

Fairhope Tree Lights Update

The city council just approved $115K for 10,000 strands of holiday lights to make sure every tree from Oak Street to Morphy Avenue is wrapped in festive cheer this season—no bare branches allowed! Mayor Sullivan confirmed that they’ll be wrapping the lights around the branches, not just draping them over the tops like in the past. And for those wondering, only trees on city property are getting the holiday treatment, so if you’re hoping to light up your own trees, you’ll still need to DIY. You can get the full details from The Fairhope Times by clicking here.
