From the Fairhope Police Department - To clarify a social media post on a group page regarding an alleged incident involving a woman trying to take a child, we want to provide updated information. On Tuesday morning, a man contacted our department to report that his wife and child were outside a local store when an unfamiliar woman approached them, accusing the mother of having stolen the child. This behavior alarmed the family, prompting them to report it. The woman in question is known to our department and has exhibited other unusual, though not illegal, behaviors. We do not consider her to be a threat to the public, and our department is collaborating with various partners to ensure she receives the appropriate assistance.
