Another Tropical Threat for Fairhope ?
From Meteorologist James Spann
A large and disorganized area of low pressure located over the western and southwestern Caribbean Sea is producing some shower and thunderstorm activity.
Environmental conditions could become conducive for gradual development, and a tropical depression could form in a few days while the system is over the southern Gulf of Mexico or northwestern Caribbean Sea.
While interests in the northwestern Caribbean Sea and along the U.S. Gulf Coast should continue to monitor the progress of this system, the timetable for potential development has shifted later toward late week or this weekend.
The chance of development over the next seven days is now 40%.
No skill in forecasting the final destination or intensity now.
Fairhope Budget a Record $188 Million
The Fairhope Times reports that the city council has called a special meeting for Monday, the last day of the fiscal year, to consider and adopt the city’s record $188 million budget for 2025. This discussion was originally scheduled for last Monday but was postponed after Councilman Burrell requested more time to review the proposal. The new budget priorities include investing in critical infrastructure, protecting the natural environment, and hiring additional personnel to support the city’s growth. There might also be some increases in garbage and golf fees, as well as possible adjustments to utility rates, but further details are still to come.
Fairhope Adoptable Pets : Meet Garfield The Cat
Meet Garfield, a charming 3-year-old orange and white tabby who truly lives up to his name. This big boy exudes a laid-back attitude that makes him the epitome of relaxation. With his striking coat and regal demeanor, Garfield takes his time surveying his kingdom from his favorite sunny perch, often found lounging like the true monarch he is.
