Fairhope Memorial Day Celebration Food Options

Good morning, Fairhope —

Dust off your flip-flops and pass the potato salad—summer has officially arrived on the breeze off Mobile Bay. The azaleas are showin’ off, the cicadas are tuning up for their seasonal concert, and every porch swing in town is back in business.

But before we lean too far into the sweet tea and sunhats, let’s pause. Today is Memorial Day, a day not just for cookouts and beach chairs, but for remembering the brave men and women who gave everything so we could live free and gather safe. We honor their sacrifice, their courage, and the legacy they left behind. If you get a quiet moment today—between bites of barbecue or while the sun sets over the bay—say a prayer, raise a glass, or simply remember. That’s the heart of this day.

Now, to add a little lightness to your Monday:

Joke of the day: They all laughed when I said I wanted to be a comedian; Well, they're not laughing now.

Stay grateful, stay cool, and scroll on for all the good things happening around town this week. And as always, if you share FairhopeNow.com with someone you love, shoot us an email at [email protected] for a chance to win a $25 Kind Cafe gift card—because iced coffee hits different when it’s free.
