Fairhope Magic: A Stranger’s Generosity Lights Up Day For Visitors

From Jeanne Schwartzlow “My husband and I were exploring Fairhope for the first time today and experienced the most gracious display of your wonderful Southern Hospitality! As we were going to Panini Pete’s for lunch, I was snapping pictures like a typical tourist, when this lovely young lady offered to take this picture of us! She wouldn’t accept our offer of her being seated before us. We had a wonderful lunch and when it came time to pay the bill, our waitress informed us that this lovely young lady paid our bill. She had already left, and we were speechless! Never have we been the recipient of something so selfless. So, if that young lady is reading this, please know we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will never forget your generosity, and promise to pay it forward!! Blessings to you!!” You can read the comments to this story here.

Fairhope’s Riley Leonard Headed to NFL Combine

Gulf Coast Media reports that Fairhope alum and Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard, fresh off starting for the American Team in the Reese’s Senior Bowl, is now heading to the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this weekend. He’ll be joining 329 of the nation’s top college players, showing off his skills to scouts from every NFL team, and running quarterback drills alongside some familiar names. Hailing from Fairhope and aiming to be the first local draft pick since 1991, Leonard’s got a lot of hometown pride behind him as he looks to make his mark in the 2025 NFL Draft at Lambeau Field.
