Massive Subdivisions Possible Near Fairhope

The Fairhope Times reports that construction has begun on the 620-lot Tealwood Estates along Underwood Road near the Marlow community, with phase one introducing 75 homes. AR Land Development envisions middle-income, custom homes with amenities like pools, tennis courts, and clubhouses to attract Baldwin County’s growing population of retirees and families. This project is just one of several big developments set to reshape the area’s rural character.
Meanwhile NBC 15 reports that a proposed 900-home subdivision by East Fish River LLC near the headwaters of Fish River along County Road 64 has sparked concern. Neighbors worry about increased runoff, flooding, and local wildlife disruption, as well as heavy traffic on an already busy road near Belforest Elementary. The developers are seeking a zoning change to allow higher-density housing, with a formal proposal now scheduled for November 14. As these developments unfold, Fairhope’s countryside stands on the brink of significant transformation.
Veterans Drive Tunnel Update

The Fairhope Times reports that the new pedestrian and bike tunnel under Veterans Drive is just about ready to roll! With most of the construction wrapped up, only some landscaping and final touches are left. Pink ribbons mark where the connecting trail will be on the west side, while the east side trails are still being designed. We’re all waiting for the official word on when Veterans Drive will reopen, but it looks like we’re close to seeing this new safe passage for walkers and cyclists come to life.

I miss each and every one of you. It's been 10 years and 5 months. I can't get over the length of time that I've had with you. Loved every minute of it. Don't forget me cuz I won't forget you. We're moving on dauphin Street Mobile. We will post when we open. Hopefully pray to God that I will be open right at Thanksgiving but more than likely it'll be before Christmas. Love you all. Keep in touch”

Local news hound David Black reports that mystery of the brand new golf cart found in Mobile Bay has been solved. “Mobile Bay golf cart mystery solved: The owner of the golf cart that was found partially submerged in Mobile Bay Friday morning has been located. What led to the unusual scene on the edge of the Bay is attributed to the cart’s owner, along with two witches from the Witches Ride, an unspecified quantity of alcohol and having a little too much fun.
