Cures for Cabin Fever
Well the snow is slowly melting and we are returning to normal here in Fairhope. The arctic air mass that swept through the Gulf Coast and brought over 8” of snow to Fairhope was both very rare and truly magical. Thank you all for sharing your snowy photos and videos with us on the Fairhope Now Facebook page! Today we are updating you on some of the ways you can get out in the community to support small businesses this weekend.
But first your Friday funny: How do you decorate a cake for a snowman? With lots of icing!
Please stay alert on local roads that are still shaded or hilly while this ice melts and potentially re-freezes Fairhope! Share any dangerous spots on the Fairhope Now Facebook page to keep everyone up to date. And also don’t forget—sharing FairhopeNow.com with a friend or family member enters you to win a $25 Kind Cafe gift card! Just email us at [email protected], and we’ll add your name to the raffle.

Winter Storm Wrap Up: The Most Snow & the 3rd Lowest Temperature Recorded in Fairhope
Words are hard to come by after the Winter Storm so we are gonna give you the facts and then lots of video and pictures of the storm and snow at the end of the newsletter. The official snowfall total for Fairhope will end up being between 8 and 9 inches. This easily beat an old All-time snow record from 1885 of 6 inches in the Mobile area. The low this morning in Mobile was 6 degrees as well as for many thermometers around Fairhope. We believe it is probably the 3rd coldest temperature ever recorded in Fairhope. There will be more cold and roads can refreeze quickly and become hazardous. Temps warm into the 60’s this weekend so enjoy the snow while it lasts.
