Storms Threatening & Festival Preparing
Spinks Megginson reports that “the severe weather risk for Saturday continues to escalate. We now have a Level 4 (out of 5) significant severe weather risk for parts of the Deep South. Isolated thunderstorms will be possible over the next several hours on this Thursday with a low-end probability of severe storms today. Any thunderstorms that can briefly become strong or marginally severe TODAY will be capable of producing gusty winds and hail. SEVERE WEATHER TIMING - SATURDAY INTO SATURDAY NIGHT... Severe thunderstorms will be possible across parts of west, central, and north Alabama along with Mississippi from late Friday night into early Saturday morning. This early morning round of storms will be capable of producing gusty winds, hail, and a few tornadoes. Noon Saturday to 3AM Sunday is the core window for most of us across south Alabama and northwest Florida when the tornado risk will peak. Storms will continue moving east on Saturday night into early Sunday morning and should be in the Florida Panhandle and southwest Georgia by 6AM Sunday at the latest.

Apiary: Progress on Bancroft

The new event space coming to Downtown Fairhope Apiary is making steady progress. The owners shared on their Apiary website:
Allison and Daniel Beebe have always believed in the power of gathering—whether it’s for a wedding, a milestone celebration, or simply a shared moment with loved ones.
As entrepreneurs in the events and hospitality industry, they saw a need for a venue that embodied both the elegance and warmth of Fairhope. That vision became Apiary.
Like the namesake apiary—a place where bees work together to create something sweet—this venue was built with intention: a refined yet inviting space where every event becomes a cherished memory. Expected opening is just a few months away.

Arts & Crafts: Respect the Signs

It’s Almost Time - The 73rd Annual Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival kicks off tomorrow at 10:00 am! And it is important to be aware of signage throughout Downtown Fairhope.
Festival setup began on Wed. evening — street closures will start this afternoon at 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, depending on location. Artist and vendor move-in begins at 6:00 pm, and our teams will be working through the night to get everything ready for opening day.
Please be mindful of no parking signs throughout downtown — vehicles will be towed once the city closes the streets. Thank you for your patience and support as we prepare for another incredible festival!
