Another Fairhope Planned Subdivision Rezoning Request Approved
The Fairhope Planning Commission gave conditional approval to the Legends at Point Clear development project on Thursday, despite concerns raised by local residents about potential environmental impacts. The project involves the construction of a new mixed-use development, including 131 residential units, commercial space, and recreational amenities in the scenic Point Clear area. Residents voiced apprehensions about wetland preservation and the increased risk of flooding in the area. The developer responded by detailing plans for protective wetland buffers and the construction of a retention pond to mitigate potential floodwaters. The commission's decision to approve the project, albeit with conditions relating to commercial use and building height, underscores the ongoing challenge of balancing development needs with environmental preservation in the rapidly growing community.

Fairhope Faces : Southern Sisters
Lots of Happy Reunions happen daily at the Fairhope Pier. These ladies are from the Alba High School Class of 1972. “We’re closer than sisters. We’re Southern sisters, always here for each other. We’ve gone through loss, deaths of husbands, health problems, and hard times with kids. We know how to make each other laugh and find joy. We’re starting to celebrate our seventieth year. Age catches up with you, but we still look good. Always take better care of yourself and use cream on your whole body. Religiously.” Read more about them at Our Southern Souls.
